George was a brother-in-law to Leonard Clarke and Samuel Charlton two other victims of the Hillcrest Mine Disaster.
George's wife, Lily, was a cousin to Samuel Ironmonger and Charles Ironmonger, two other victims of the Hillcrest Mine Disaster.
In 1891 George, age 3, was living near the Ironmonger family in Norton Canes, Staffordshire.
